A leading African marketing and infant brand distribution agency with huge ambitions to grow locally and internationally is on the hunt for a growth-minded individual who can work in a passionate and collaborative office environment.

 

About the Role:

The position is for a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper who can complement our workforce and deliver accurate and timely results in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for processing and maintaining accurate records of financial and payroll and wages transactions. Financial transactions include debtors, foreign creditors, treasury, payroll and wages. You will be required to provide in-depth reporting and utilize strategic thinking to create optimal results.

 

Senior Bookkeeper Job Responsibilities:

Processing and maintaining accurate records of

  • Debtors: Full function debtors including collections.
  • Foreign creditors: reconciling and remittance of payment.
  • Treasury (Local and Forex): Monitor and Buy Forex currencies and ensure local bank balances are maintained daily.
  • Payroll and wages: Check time sheets and collaborate for Workforce. Prepare and execute payroll on SAGE.
  • Human Resources: prepare new contracts and manage exits contracts.
  • SARS: Prepare and submit PAYE and VAT, manage all queries, maintain SARS compliance status.
  • General Ledger: process journals and reconcile GL accounts as above.

Reporting

  • Prepare month end reports and balance to General ledger
  • Prepare adhoc reports as necessary.
  • Submit reports and returns to SARS, Workman’s Compensation, NRCS and other authorities at regulated intervals to maintain business legal compliance.

  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Working experience on computerized accounting systems. Experience on Syspro an advantage.

 

Education and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • 5-7 years proven working experience in accounting in FMCG
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • In depth knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
  • Good understanding of accounting best practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
