Overview

Our client is a well known and successful financial services company that provides customers with a direct connection to loans and insurance. (Please note, in line with our client’s Employment Equity Plan, suitably qualified African Black candidates who meet the criteria for the role will be given preference).

Typically the BA gathers, captures, documents and communicates information from Subject Matter Experts  to the rest of the team responsible for constructing the solution. The BA will also documents all required artefacts. When the Development Team are working on user stories that have been written by the BA, the BA will work within the development team to answer any questions and to ensure that what is developed, meets the requirements of the business.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Matric

A relevant IT Qualification/Business Degree or Diploma

Exposure to Scrum Methodology (Advantage)

Business Analyst Diploma or FTI Qualification

Technical background

Proficiency in MS Office

Knowledge of business processes

3-5 years in a similar role

Ability to solve business problems, understand a complex solution & translate into high level generic requirements

Experience developing complex integrated applications and/or data integrations

Ability to transform business requirements into a workable design at a functional level

Financial services domain knowledge in retail banking

Experience with Agile software development concepts and Scrum an advantage

Facilitation experience for conducting user design and review sessions and running stakeholder agreement meetings

Above average communication skills

Duties

Responsibilities

Requirements Analysis:
- Define the scope of analysis work to be done
- Information Gathering from all stakeholders
- Determination / calculation of business value
- Complete / amend process models for current projects
- Create wire frames where required
- Write user stories
- Define user acceptance criteria

Support the sprint teams:
- Attend daily scrum and answer questions from team members
- Participate in daily conversations with team members to clarify product vision and priorities.
- Mentor team members to grow in analysis competency and domain knowledge

 - Identify process improvement opportunities within Scrum Process
- Contribute to the knowledge management repositories on each development increment in the areas of:
o Domain knowledge
o Design standards

Solution Deploy:
- Determination of requirements for Organizational readiness (e.g. Training, structure, support)
- Definition of acceptance criteria
- Definition of corrective actions (Bug list)
- Post project review

 

Documentation:
- Maintain a reference document throughout the life cycle of a project / enhancement
