My client is a specialist financial services company that provides customers with personal loans and insurance products in a way that is most convenient for them as well as being tailored to their individual needs.

 

Well established and successful, the client has grown from strength to strength having financed over 1 million personal loans and serviced nearly 400,000 Car & Home customers and over 165 000 Life Insurance customers.

 

As part of their plan for further growth and embracing innovation, the client is focusing on growing the brand within the South African market, offering a further variety of products to their customers and aiming to become the leading direct, digital financial services brand within the South African consumer market. This Financial Services division is looking to appoint a new CEO to head up this exciting segment.

 

The successful candidate will be accountable for the Segment’s end-to-end business value chain, operating models and frameworks that enable the achievement of its strategic objectives. Key to this role is the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with peers, direct reports and all key stakeholders whilst aligning the Business Unit’s strategies to the company’s long term vision and mission.

 

The individual will be accountable for the following main focus areas:

 

·  Driving a profitable business

·  Identifying and maintaining strategic relationships and partnerships

·  Driving digitisation and building customer reward systems

·  Defining and implementing the business operating model

·  Shaping the company’s brand and customer strategies

·  Defining innovative strategies to introduce new products and services to market

·  Driving the area’s transformation agenda

·  Ensuring that employees are empowered, included, trusted and developed

·  Inspiring teams to live the company’s values and purpose

 

Minimum requirements for this role are as follows:

·         Tertiary/ Professional Qualification

·         5 years of Senior Executive Management experience; leading teams of senior leaders

 

Furthermore the individual must evidence the following skills and competencies:        

·         Conceptual / big picture thinking

·         Ability to deal with complexity and uncertainty       

·         Sound judgment and decision-making

·         Have an entrepreneurial nature and an entrepreneurial track record will be advantageous

·         Strong influencing, networking and relationship management skills

·         Excellent communication skills – written and verbal   

·         A sound understanding of marketing (direct and digital) and business development

·         Good understanding of technology and digitisation will be advantageous

·         Good analytical understanding

·         Experience in Financial Services / Banking advantageous
